Smart homes work locally without a subscription. HomeIQ Care is optional — and worth it for the homes that rely on the system daily.

Care unlocks remote access from anywhere, push notifications for events that matter (unlocked doors, water leaks, garage left open), voice control integration with Apple Home and Google Home, and system backups so programming and preferences can be restored if hardware is replaced. Regular software updates keep the system evolving with the platforms it connects to — Sonos, Lutron, DALI, HomeKit, Matter. A monthly insights report shows uptime, storage use, and whether the system is running the latest software.
